Hill Rise Local Nature Reserve (LNR) is a 0.9 hectare site owned by Bedford Borough Council and jointly managed by local volunteers and the Council. The entrance is in Park Road North. There is a public car park nearby in Foster Hill Road and limited street parking in Park Road North.

School Group Visit

Hill Rise Local Nature Reserve welcomes schools and recreational groups to provide students with unique and memorable learning experiences.

We can help support your teaching particularly for younger children with our Trail Booklet which you can download with ideas to actively engage your class or group. Hill Rise is a great place to get away from it all, get closer to nature and enjoy spending time together as a group. Although the site is only 2.2 acres in size, there is so much biodiversity to see and admire.

Guidelines

Please enjoy your visit and help us by remembering to:

  • Keep to the paths
  • Not to trample on the vegetation
  • Pick nothing
  • Leave the pond areas undisturbed
  • Take all your rubbish with you when you leave
  • Go quietly

  • Dogs are not allowed into the nature reserve at any time except for registered guide dogs who visit to assist their owners.
