Alan Garner completed the second Winter bird survey on the 16th February, here is his report:
I spent 45 minutes at the reserve this morning, carrying out my second winter bird survey. I have to say it was very quiet, with not a lot of bird activity. Plenty of Robins were singing, as were a few Great Tits and a couple of Wrens. In addition, there was evidence of Woodpigeon, Magpie, Blackbird, Starling, Blue Tit, Goldfinch, Dunnock and House Sparrow. I heard Stock Dove and Carrion Crow but I’m fairly sure that they were in the cemetery.
The two foxes were sun-bathing in the wooded area, but moved off when they saw me.
